Spiderman 3
There is a buzz of anticipation surrounding Spiderman 3, which is due to be released on May 4th, 2007. Director Sam Raimi has kept Spiderman fans guessing with this one. He has revealed precious little about the plot or the characters and so there are a lot of wild guesses floating around about possible villains and how they are meted out divine justice.

Invincible Iron Man
Iron Man is the last in the straight to video animated series The Ultimate Avengers. The project is actually titled The Invincible Iron Man and is the second in the series to feature Mark Worden’s voice work. The movie is a standalone, featuring only past events, and can be seen without the other two in the series. While animated, it is by no means a child’s movie, appealing more to adult comic book fans then anyone. It offers a beautiful music score, and excellent CG animation during the action packed scenes. The difference in The Invincible Iron Man is that unlike the live action comic movies of the past it stays true to Stan Lee and Steve Ditko’s original work. The movie is in a sense simply the comic book brought to life. The animation is excellent, and will appeal to serious comic book fans and newbie’s alike.

The plot of The Invincible Iron Man, while comic book cliché, does not in anyway take away from the original comic books intensity. Like its predecessors in the series it remains true to the legacy that has already been formed on paper. While there are some subtle creative differences, only really die hard fans will notice them, and the movie is enjoyable despite any creative license that has been taken by the writers and animators.

Tony Stark, the owner of Stark Enterprises, and an inventor of military weapons wants to begin a new project. He plans on raising the ruins of a lost city in China, despite the local’s objections. He succeeds, but with the ruins he brings with it ancient evil. Prophecy had foretold the rising of an evil sorcerer named Mandarin and Stark has brought him back to life, by disturbing the sacred grounds of the city.

Mandarin’s intent is to, of course, rule the world, and only Tony Stark can stop him. Using his knowledge of military weaponry Stark builds a suit, made up of high tech metals and fierce weapons. This suit may not be enough to combat the forces Tony has unleashed, and an epic battle is sure to ensue.
